The Steelwater LD724228 features a 4 7⁄8″ composite door reinforced with three layers of fireboard, paired with two additional fireboard layers throughout the walls, ceiling, floor, and door jambs. In the event of a fire, a heat-activated expandable door seal expands up to eight times its size, sealing out smoke and water while preserving interior contents.

Burglary resistance is equally formidable. The safe is secured by 20 solid steel locking bolts, each 25% longer than standard bolts, providing four-sided bolt coverage—even if hinges are attacked. A gear-driven lock and bolt system, combined with a drill- and ballistic-resistant hard plate, protects the lock, re-locker, and internal mechanisms from tampering or forced entry attempts.
